American Tree Sparrow (Spizella Arborea)

A winter visitor in northern USA,spending most of its life feeding and nesting on the ground. Its main habitiate is above the tree line in the far north of Canada and Alaska
Breeds from Alaska to Labrador, winters Arizona and Texas through to South Carolina

Eats mainly insects in the summer, and seeds in the winter

Habitat
Breeds in open areas near treeline, winters in gardens, fields, marshes, resedential areas and open forewst.

Nest
Open cup of grasses, moss, twigs, bark, lined with grasses and feathers. Placed close to ground

Eggs
Pale blue, reddish specks, 4 - 6 eggs, incubation 12 - 13 days,

Voice
Song:series of high, sewwt whistles notes, Call: a harder "seet" "tweedle eet"

Rufus brown crown and eyestripe with grey head
Dark spot in center of plain unstreaked breast

Dark grey upper bilol, yellow lowerBrown back with darker streaks
